I am consistantly amazed how fast an hour goes by with the Price is Right. Its the quickest way to kill an hour. Even if I am not paying attention. It is so fast paced, I just lose track of time. Today, the big winner actually bid on the first showcase, they almost always pass.

New Neighbors
Well so far, no good , in the first impressions department. After a day of driving into my driveway and taking a right - into their front yard, a semi-tracter trailer does the same thing, completely blocling my driveway. I did actually go out, and changed my mind about saying anything until 5:30. Which is when I leave. I am certain, had they asked, I would not have had a problem with it, but with my truck where it was, I'd have moved it. Which is going to be my main point of argument. If it comes to that.

The driveway bs, started with the old man. Now I can forgive an old man not being able to deal with the traffic on Liberty. But he did not have to start a trend.

I cannot get over how bad money has been this week. Its like night and day. But strangely, it seems to follow a biweekly pattern. I wonder if it follows the bi-weekly pattenr of other peoples paychecks. Thankfully I get paid during the "off week".

Opie has been showing interest in me, and I have been playing the aloof older guy - ignoring him until its too late game, While floyd is falling in love at the drop of a hat par usual. This shite happens all the time between me and floyd. I am much slower, and every time Floyd moves in I drop them like a cold potato . I cannot explain why, but I can list numerous examples. Floyd has yet to have something beyond two weeks, but he seems to hit it before I make any moves. This time I am actually circling like no other. and I do not need ten times the competition by anyone helping the two week long goods damaging process along. Randy was there for whatever set Walt off, and neither of us could figure out what it was. My only guess is he did not want to work tonight. and was confused as to who was being comped at one of his tables. But the way he asked, I thougth he was looking for a very specific Tab, which had never been created. we were simply bringing blue moons and budlights to dan and jon jon.

I had a mini movie marathon this weekend, yesterday; Francess, and today; Amadeus, Down from the Mountain, and Mildred Pierce. I was a bit dissapointed by F & DFTM. Both were fine, but I expected to like them better.

I had popped in to the restaurant today (friday), and saw Claude and his wife. Why do I never remember her name? He told me he has some condition that makes him lethargic and stuff, but definately wants to go forward with the music project. I explained I had a few other things going on, but needed to get my ah tuned and restrung. He has ideas for video projects and costumes. They bought me a beer. It was pleasant visiting with them. about an hour. They invited me over, but I explained I needed to be home.

Things are shaping up. I have been making my average daily amount once again. This week, it was almost exact. I think bartending tuesday is the key. MB was trying to leave tuesday and she asked me how I liked bartending, and I responded with "loving it" as though she asked me ho I likd the latest Chocolate mouse. This according to Walt.

my money problems have hit a new low. I came home monday to find my gas bill was unpaid for 3 mos. and such the gas was turned off. It was $100 owed, past due. I had to negotiate and stuff, got them to agree to bill me for the deposit, pay the $100 and get it turned on. This morning at 8:30 am, they ame to turn it on and relight my pilots and my furnace does not seem to want to work. The pilot light is on, but it is not flaming up. I am really not interested or able to deal with replacing my furnace, much less even having it serviced. Maybe heating companies will start having "check up specials" given we are nearing the heating season.

I did not get to visit as much with D&W as I would have liked to day. I did give my standard cous cous cous joke. I also found out that the reason D wanted to leave TTC so fast is she got some happy with the hippies at the concert.

Ok I go to the concert last night after a vigorous day of shopping for new (?) clothes, and D wanted to leave after and hour. I think its because W could not get in. Not sure. they came in when the dropped me off I think. 'Cause I remember getting W a beer. Not sure what caused their departure. I thinka beer was spilled.

I went in to the Doo-wop to return some Cds, and to discuss the My Autoharp options. Somehow, some young new kid asked what an autoharp was, a more experienced guy half explained the chording mechanism, and the kid just started saying "so learning to play is kind of ignorant". I am not sure if the older guy asked the kid if he ever saw one, or some such thing. I find it very odd to think they just started talking about it. BUT, needless to say, I was a little put off. I did ask if they had a tuning wrench, but left it at that. I'll be buying mine online. I also did not buy the book they sold. I am debating if I should tell the store manager or owner.

I realize the instrument is much maligned by "serious musicians", so I should expect it. I may have to develop a thicker skin. I wonder if I should call Ron Harris.

Today Beff comes over and does some shining. Shez been away for a few weeks but I think she will be surprised. Today is my lucky day at work, but will have to deal with the potential firing of "Richard". Coach House will be in tonight. Hopefully Luck with be on his team. Last night was fun the crowd was very responsive to what I did. Some weeks its like no one is there at all. I think I just had my superfans in the building.

I still need to finish mhy coffee, shower and bank.

Finally did get some sleep, had weird dreams before I woke up. All hotdog cooking related. I was in sams, or some hot dog store that had the grill method like we ahd at the movie theater. Damn it. All the signs are there. I am still very naive about new infections. Last night I was told a chronically ill, getting skinnier, friend of mine is not just HIV+ But has full blown AIDS. What a weird night. First no apparent increase in business. Next, every table I had was like high maintenance.

Opie asked me adivce for breaking off his 3 week old "relationship". privately I am like I hve unanswered phone messages older than that, but gave him some good advice, as long as an admission of how badly I'd handle it if it was me. He ended with "so I am single again".

I think Opie won the pool. C3P0 came in at 11:02 and gave the brush off to chucky. He was very f.ed/u. the kind where he wants to buss tables and stuff. However, Clara seemed go leave with all the bootie.

My yard is a wreck. Finally I have the excuse/need to get my lawn in order. I have always maintained the fiction that i did not "like" overly manicured lawns. But in reality I never had the motivation to do it before.

One good thing out of all this is my Gas meter is now outside and not in the basement. I'll have to camoflage it with a shrub or some ornamental grasses.

It took seemingly forever and not before a huge waft of natual gas was sucked into my house, but it seems to be complete.

Today I woke to the sound of backhoes digging up my front yard. Last wednesday, my yard and sidewalk were tore up by jack hammers and back hoes. They had to change out a gas valve near the street. Well it gets better, by Friday I smelled gas seeping up through the ground. I called saturday, and it being Labor Day weekend, had someone instantly dispatched to my house on an emergency basis *not*. They did get there and put in a work order. And not until today was a awakened to the melodious tunes of back hoes ripping apart my front lawn. I love the sound of the backhoes in the summertime.

It is being fixed today. Good thing I am not a smoker. The animals are going nuts witht he noise.

Real coffee today. Maybe a whole pot's worth. I hope this does not last too long, I need to go tot he bank.

Its been a week since my last one night stand. I find myself still thinking about Jose. Here are some things I liked about him.

2) When I warned him that I was a bad house keeper, he simply agreed.

re the Hula Girl. When I was enroute to Wal*Mart to get some patio tables for the restaurant, I was stuck behind a mini-van playing school bus at the railroad tracks. He did all but open the door. But as I was getting irritated I noticed a hula girl on his dashboard, and I gave him a break. Weird ho such a simple toy completely calmed my "road Rage". Maybe if we were all to get dashboard hula girls Road Rage would end.

In ch 10 of "on the road" The main character, Sal Paradise, mentions Green Hills of Africa and calls it Hemingway's best. I want to check into that.

I am still wondering what the surprise is on the new Mother Jane CD.
of the idea I have come up with are ; in no particular order.

this will surprise me, since They seem to try and do original works all the time.

It could happen, but am not sure how I fit in their song writing style

I got called in yesterday. Despite agreeing to go in on my day off to cover Louise/droopy, which was of my own doing, Chas called in sick and I went in at 4-ish.

Today is a rock star energy drink day, AND my ChromaHarp came today. It is horribly out of tune, and needs a string. I'll bring it in to Doo Wop this week.

I found out what the pig noise was in my loving room. I am so paranoid about the cat bringing in live animals, I thought there was a hedge hog behind the couch. But no, it was the just the oscillating fan :-)

This afternoon, in between bouts of getting my room in shape, I am obsessivley downloading songs to remake my Vinyl LP K-Tel's Hit Machine. I have the Album on my lap, and each song downloaded is like a little victory. I am having trouble finding Frankie Valli's "Our Day Will Come", and Rick Springfield's "Take a Hand"
